Kalakriti Arts with Nupurnad academy of dance has something different to offer to art connoisseurs this New Year! ‘Dance n Tunes’ brings a mesmerizing experience to music and dance lovers with a dance drama - ‘Sura Shyama Ranga’ based on saint poet Surdas’s Hindi compositions choreographed by Bharatnatyam exponent Mrs. Swati Daithankar followed by a ‘Santoor’ recital by Mr. Dhananjay Daithankar and climaxed with a unique duet of Santoor & Bharatnatyam.

‘Sura Shyama Ranga’ is a unique dance ballet, based on the Hindi lyrics of ancient saint poet ‘Suradas’ presented in Bharatnatyam dance form. It is a perfect blend of Hindi language, Hindustani music and South Indian dance. It is an extra ordinary visual experience through group dance choreographies, glamorous drapery, colourful lights and graceful stage decorations. ‘Sura Shyama Ranga’ has tremendous mass appeal and a real invitation to the amazing world of beauty, imagination and total bliss.

Santoor recital by Mr. Dhananjay Daithankar, a disciple of ‘Santoor’ maestro Pt. Shivkumar Shrama, is an absolute treat to music lovers. The rendition of various ‘ragas’ by Dhananjay, has a quality of expressing feelings without the necessity of language.

Duet (Santoor & Bharatnatyam) is a combined concert of BharatNatyam & Santoor recital. A perfect blend of South & North Indian dance & music! In this single concert music lovers can enjoy two different Indian music styles & two different art forms on one stage. A unique presentation by a couple duo Mr & Mrs Daithankar!
